COVID-19 Government Grants Available

The government has announced that business premises forced to close (such as non-essential retail, leisure, personal care, sports facilities and hospitality businesses) due to local or national restrictions are to receive grants worth up to £3,000 a month under the local restrictions support grant (closed).

They are:

• Businesses occupying premises appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value of exactly £15,000 or under on the date of the commencement of the widespread national restrictions will receive a payment of £1,334 per 28-day qualifying restriction period

• Businesses occupying premises appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000 on the date of the commencement of the widespread national restrictions will receive a payment of £2,000 per 28-day qualifying restriction period

• Businesses occupying premises appearing on the local rating list with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or above on the commencement date of the widespread national restrictions, will receive £3,000 per 28-day qualifying restriction period

How do I claim this grant?

The application process for the local restriction support grant (for businesses told to temporarily close) is now open. Harborough District Council will distribute this grant.

All applications must be made online. Chose the option 'Grants for Businesses'. As you will be required to upload evidence, we will not be able to consider other forms of applications.

Harborough District Council is distributing the grant according to a strict national eligibility criteria, and is encouraging all eligible businesses to apply online as soon as possible.
