After a very busy and exciting year at The Business Hut, we were sad to say goodbye to 2018. It’s been good to us.
We want to start by saying a massive thank you to our clients and suppliers. We’ve loved watching client’s businesses develop and getting to know new prospects. We now assist clients in a wide variety of industries including retail, IT, marketing, furniture and property. Getting to know so many businesses and industries has helped to strengthen our services. Here’s what some of our clients had to say…
NEW TEAM MEMBERS
In autumn our team expanded by two! Leanne & Natalie joined us with tons of enthusiasm and experience from their respective industries. They have been a great asset to the team and assisting clients. Find out more about them on the intro blog. They have both gained their Level II ICB qualifications in Bookkeeping. Well done! We toasted their success at our Christmas Party held at Warner Edwards Gin Distillery.
WE TURNED 4!
Happy birthday to us! It’s been 4 incredible years and we celebrated with a beautiful Gardners Bakery Cake which went down well with the team and clients alike.
GROWING OUR PRACTICE
Over the course of 2018 we met so many new faces and businesses and we’re really pleased to be assisting all of our clients with Xero, Accounts and Bookkeeping on an annual, weekly or monthly basis. We love being part of each and every team we work within. In April, we became Xero Silver Partners – our partnership with Xero has strengthened and we can offer more services around this beautiful accounting software, including payroll, projects and more. The breadth of knowledge in accounting technology is so varied now that using Xero for only bank feeds and compliance is like using your smartphone only for phone calls. That’s why we ensure that us and our clients alike are getting the most from this beautiful accounting software.
We’re so excited for 2019 and continuing to grow our team & practice.
In March 2018, Charlotte took part in the inaugural first London Landmarks Half Marathon whilst raising over £500 for Alzheimers Society! Well done Charlotte!
In June, Tor took part in the Harborough Carnival of Running, completing her first 10k along with the team from UPS Battery Services and raised vital funds to support Alzheimers Research UK.
Thank you so much to our clients and suppliers for the support and donations provided for both races. Keep your eyes peeled for more personal and charitable challenges in 2019!
Over an epic couple of days in November, we visited Xerocon 2018 at the Excel, London. We were excited to hear all about what the future holds for this beautiful accounting software and the industry, as well as learn about new integrated apps that can support our clients businesses.
We’re thrilled to be part of such an innovative community of bookkeepers and accountants.
MAKING TAX DIGITAL READY!
MTD is not just another fancy acronym. Making Tax Digital (MTD), as it’s name suggests, is all about going digital. It is the most fundamental change to the administration of our tax system for over 20 years. Our clients are MTD ready and we’ve also gained our Xero MTD badge! If you’d like to find out more, we’ve got lots more MTD resources. If you have any other questions, we’d be happy to answer them! Pop into the office, give us a call or hit send – firstname.lastname@example.org.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM 2019?
We’re really excited for the coming year and continuing to grow our own business and client base. We’ll be focusing on educating new and existing clients on MTD and introducing Xero to many more growing businesses. Our team are setting themselves personal challenges as well and we’ll keep you updated with all our progress throughout the year! If you’d like to continue to follow our journey then hit follow on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook!
Thanks for stopping by for our 2018 round-up!
A very happy New Year! We hope to see you in 2019!
